What Are The Differences Between Men And Women In The Hormonal, Emotional Results Of Meditation?

Women have a different chemical and hormonal make-up than men;
can the emotional effects of PMS be lessened or improved, especially through meditation, or are they completely uncontrolable? Do men tend to get more results with emotional control and meditation, or less? What are the differences between men and women with the biochemical and mental effects of meditation? How easily do women as compared to men reach altered states through meditation? I would like to hear from
women more importantly than men, as men do not experience menstration and therefor cannot truly say what it is like. Are there any personal stories from women who have improved their emotional health (especially through meditation)?

the only thing that ruins it for me being a woman is my hormones. im ruled by them. i wish i can be locked away from my loved ones and the rest of the world for about 2 weeks out of the month. or at least one. i have the worse kind of clinical pms. but our diets have contributed greatly to this. i dont drink soda, but i do need my coffee. sodium is my enemy and that causes swelling and bloating and irritability. i have to exercise or im a wreck. i drink alot of water and try to eat a well balanced diet. all the chemicals and preservatives in foods are the worst, for anyone. i try to eat alot of fresh fruits and vegtables. but diet is a huge contributing factor. i crave alcohol too. so i will drink wine because it helps with alot of things. i crave sweets so i eat chocolate. get real tired and fatigued but cant sleep at night due to anxiety. kill me already. i feel for my family members who are 3 males. im the only female. and we hate the opposite sex during that time of th month as well. run! run for your lives!! i cant even stand myself. oh yeah, and the breakouts. you feel fat, bloated, ugly and want to hide from the world.
emotional issues/PMS can be controlled with proper hormone balance, and diet/exercise. High-sugar diets can cause anxiety, mood swings, pain, and fatigue in men and women.
Meditation can help to balance the mind and (like prayer) put a person in a more positive mood.
Non-duality,
I have been a meditator for years and it has changed my life. I am much more in control of my emotions. You could say that I have developed Emotional Intelligence.
As far as the differences between men and women, I have to say that when I go to spiritual retreats and meditation courses or seminars, there are always more women than men. And there seems to be no difference between the sexes as to who derives more or less benefit.
I believe that getting benefit from meditation has less to do with a person’s sex than their state of mind and emotional health.
Meditation acts as a doorway for people to process and grow personally and spiritually but improvment always comes from personal choice.
So the individual who derives the most benefit from meditation is a person who chooses to apply what he or she has learned through the practice of meditation and the strengthened ability to stop, clear the mind, and make conscious choices about their behavior.
This ability or inclination is genderless and comes down to individual differences.
You can access a really good free meditation course that teaches people how to use meditation to work with their emotions here: http://www.meditationformastery.com
