Religious or not, we treat others out of what is in our hearts. So, isn’t it disjointed, if not much worse, for someone to give intellectual assent to a love beyond human limits, while treating others with judgment? Aren’t their actions showing what they actually believe, despite what they THINK they believe?

Let’s say you’ve been dating for not too long and were deeply in love with the person, but lately you’ve been fighting and against your will you just don’t have the loving feelings like butterflies in the stomach or anticipation to see them any more. Will it come back or once it’s gone it’s gone for good?

I am serious. Could someone articulate the difference between loving, or thinking you are, and then ACTUALLY being in love. How do you know??

For example I loved my ex boyfriend very much and I still do, but I am not sure if I was in this legendary lifelong “in love” sort of thing? Is there a difference? And if there is a difference how do you know you are in love rather then loving someone? Anyone get what I mean? Thanks for any help.

I’ve heard many people say they left a relationship because they loved the person but were not in love with that person.

Is there a difference? Is being in love with someone mean you are desiring them, and when you just love someone, your content or even sticking around out of guilt?
